This was a very nice, private, cozy cabin. It was just what we needed. A bit more instruction would have been useful for running the solar system but a fantastic place to spend the new year!

We had a wonderful holiday stay at the cabin. Patti made it extra special with cheerful decorations in every room. We had lots of snow and had a blast sledding with the kids - seriously the best sledding hill ever! The solar and backup generator were easy to navigate due to clear instructions and the Wood stove made everything perfectly cozy. It was a wonderful way to visit far away family and celebrate the holidays! Thank you!

This cabin is a little slice of heaven. This is our second time visiting so we knew what to expect. Read the listing, this cabin is off grid, runs on solar power. The road is rough. But seriously it’s worth it for the peace and quiet. Bring NH wood & gas for the generator. Only gave 4 stars because there was absolutely no gas in the generator or gas can when we arrived & not one piece of wood. We had a difficult time finding any for sale nearby as gas stations were sold out.

When we arrived, the power was off with no clear instructions on how to turn it on. We had to call the host, which was difficult due to poor reception, and it took about 30 minutes to reach them. Thankfully, they were helpful once we connected and guided us through starting the generator. Arriving after dark meant the inside was as cold as the freezing temperatures outside. It took hours to warm the place with the fireplace and the single gas heater, which was finicky and kept shutting off, leaving the fire as the only reliable heat source and the nights very cold. Another major issue was the access road. The listing does NOT mention it’s a Class 6 road, and 2 of our cars suffered damage that now requires mechanic visits. I’m giving 2 stars instead of 1 because once the heat and power were working, the place was cozy and in a beautiful, secluded area with great hiking and a nice chance to disconnect.

Nice enough if you are looking for a cabin that is one step above camping, but for us the "off grid" wasn't working. Batteries and solar would keep the lights on, but even a couple people showering in a row would kill the power. Cabin not well stocked - no firewood on arrival, generator ran out of gas the second night and there was maybe 2 gallons in a can to limp through the night. Lots of little things broken. Creaking floors will wake up any light sleeper with any movement. Generator wouldn't reliably start - lots of squatting outside praying for it to run while someone inside was hoping to finish their shower.

Only issue was the place wasn’t clean when we arrived. There was trash left behind, beds weren’t made. We booked last minute so they didnt clean it before we arrived. Also, this home is solar powered. We had no power in the morning. Idk if that was mentioned on the listing. Other than that it was ok
